Yikes! Playlist Warning...

I love Carol King's music, so I had a couple of her songs on my Playlist.  This morning when it got to one of her songs there was the most awful, off-key rendition in place of Carol!  When I went to Playlist, I discovered that the songs of Carol's on my Playlist were all being sung by this person. I had selected the songs from  blogfiles-wfmu-org (I purposely typed this so it would not link to the site).  Maybe it was a joke, but I take a lot of time selecting recordings with the best sound before adding them.  You may want to check your Playlist to see if your favorites have changed.

Other than that, it's been an amazing day.  I'm feeling better, so I spent the morning sorting through more boxes of stuff.  ARC came yesterday for a big box.  Salvation Army is coming tomorrow for our old washer and dryer, plus however many boxes I can fill for them.

My friend, Judy, dropped by to visit.  She brought me Chantilly perfume!  It was her moms, who was a very special person in my life.  Each time I wear it, I will think of her.

We've had weather!  All kinds!  It went from being around 60 to cold and rainy today.  We even got snow!  My poor tulips were tightly shut and all hunched over.  It's no surprise to me though.  It's just another traditional Idaho spring!  Lol!

Two Years of Blogging...

Today I celebrated two years of blogging.  I had been having a hard time each year when mom's birthday came around.  It would have been yesterday, the 22nd.  Two years ago, I decided to put my energy into something new... something that would be a positive for me.  I decided to start a blog.  It was one of the better decisions I ever made.

I have found the blogging community to be friendly and supportive.  I've made some amazing friendships that would have never come about any other way.  I've met people from Texas, Wisconsin, Arkansas and as far away as Australia... all over the States and all over the world.  My little blog has expanded my universe.  It's also enabled me to keep old friends and family up to date with what's going on in my life.

These days I am rarely sad when I think of my mom.  I have borrowed from her sense of optimism and love for life.  My Mary Engelbreit calendar has a quote for each day.  The quote for mom's birthday was "I am here to live out loud!"  It made me laugh.  Such optimism!  That's how my mom lived her life.  You can see it in her picture... even her eyes are smiling!  I'm going to keep working at "living out loud"... not hiding when things are hard, or sad, but facing it all head on.  Life is too good to let it pass by unnoticed!

An Empty Room...

I hope you're having a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!  As I visited several blogs today, I discovered that the yucky cold/sinus stuff that's hit my house is getting folks down all over the country.  I hope it's just a last swipe of winter, because...

It certainly feels like spring today.  The sun is shining brightly, there's a crisp breeze, and the birds are singing and building nests!  Beautiful!

I have an empty room in my house.  Number one son, MJ, has moved to Boise.  The offer came unexpectedly, and even though he's been sick he jumped at the chance.  He's renting a room from a friend, her two sisters, and her two little Boston Terriers, Milo and Pete!  Thankfully, he has an amazing group of friends.  They showed up with two trucks, and did almost all of the loading and unloading.  He's pretty much settled in.

Now, what to do with the room.  I had all kinds of ideas before he moved, but last night I just sat in his room in the leather chair he decided to leave behind.  I let my mind wander back over the years.  What a blessing MJ has been in my life... in our lives!  I know many people who just couldn't take one more minute with their children, and were so happy to see them gone.  I am happy to see him take this next step on his life's journey, but I would have been just as happy for him to stay a bit longer.  That's because he's brought us so much joy!  He's got such a caring heart.  I can't wait to see where life takes him.

As for the room... I'm ready now to put it to use.  It will be a combo room for photo storage, art projects; crafts in progress, office, and if we can find a reasonably priced TV... a gaming room.  That way, when EJ has friends over or when MJ comes to visit, they'll have a place to hang out.  Change comes whether we're ready or not, but that's what makes life so interesting.  Embrace change!

Sunday Scribblings - Fluent

Here is this weeks Sunday Scribblings.  To see more of my work go to My Sunday Scribblings

In dreams I dance,
spinning effortlessly across the flour,
my soft dress fluently swirling
around me to the rhythm of the music.
Moving gracefully, lightly,
unencumbered by age and circumstance.
In dreams, I still dance.

Sunday Scribblings - Big Dreams

Big Dreams is the prompt for this weeks Sunday Scribblings.  To see all of my writing for Sunday Scribblings, go to My Sunday Scribblings.  Here is my attempt...

We all carry dreams in our hearts, but how often do we see them come to fruition.  Years of our lives can be spent on little steps forward, and back, in the journey to achieve those dreams.  From the time I was a little girl, I have loved stories, all kinds.  I played with the idea of becoming a published writer, but have never seriously pursued it.  It seemed to be too big of a dream for me to accomplish.

For the past few years, I have watched my sister, and her guy, pursue a dream.  He wrote a screenplay.  Then he began gathering local talent to begin filming.  My sister was a dedicated part of the whole process.  She had a vision that it had to be done.  They spent time, money, and energy to do that.  They poured heart and soul into the project.  Tonight they saw their dream unfolding, as they premiered their movie before a local audience.  I have heard good things about it already.  No matter what comes next, they followed their big dream.  They made it reality with hard work and commitment.

That's what it takes to achieve the big dreams.  Digging deep inside your heart, laying it all out there, and believing in your vision.  Maybe it's time to dust off my manuscripts, and take another look at my dreams.  There is a world of possibilities out there, waiting for those who have the courage and the desire to take hold of them.

Vagabond Lane Premiere

I have been sick again this week, so my posting is not getting done on a regular basis.  I did come on today to tell you about an opportunity if you live in the Boise, Idaho area.

My sister has been involved in the making of a local film called Vagabond Lane.  I can't tell you much about the film other than what you will read in the reviews.  It is PG rated, and I'm told has a Christian theme behind the fantasy.  Here's the event information:

Vagabond Lane premieres tomorrow at the Egyptian Theatre, with showings at 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM.  Tickets are a bargain at $6.00 per person.  It is an all Idaho cast and crew!

The Boise Weekly Review is Here:

I hope if you live in the area, you'll be able to come and support this local film.
Before signing out I just have to say, we had the most amazing, sunny day!  A definite sign of Springtime!  It was just what was needed to raise my spirits.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
