Sunday Scribblings - Eternity

It's time for Sunday Scribblings.  Go to My Sunday Scribblings to see earlier pieces.  Or click "Home" at the end of the post, and take a look at my full blog.

The prompt is Eternity... For some reason, this was a difficult prompt for me.  I decided to take a look at how I see the "foreverness" of my life today.  When I was married, in my early 20's, life seemed to be endlessly stretching out in front of me.  Funny how time changes things.  I chose to try poetry again.  I hope you enjoy the attempt.  Thanks for stopping by...

Eternity is different at 55
We're still alive
Survived

Life's expanse seemed to stretch forever
We vowed to never
Sever

The dot at the end of the line
A flashing sign
Resigned

Almost see the finish ahead
But we're not dead
Instead

Love expands and grows ever strong
No sounding gong
Ends this song

Now, that is beautiful, Nita Jo. And, so true.

Thank you so much for asking for prayer for Brittney. That's so sweet of you. We're hoping this will be the last surgery!

Take care; I hope it's as pretty where you are as it is here. ((hugs))

55! You have so much life ahead of you. However you are so right, love certainly makes all things bearable even old age!

'Man dies, nor is there hope in dust'.......Well, if you must!
'Grow old along with me, the best
is yet to be'.......There, you see?

Nicely optimistic finish.

Our perceptions of time and meaning shift as we age, yet love remains a constant thread. Nice!

Profound, and oh so true! Probably why I cry more tears of joy now than every before. Very pensive and wonderfully written!

I want to thank everyone for your comments! I did take "license" with my age to fit the rhyme. Not quite at 55, but very, very close! Love really does get us through so much, and seems to get better as the years fly by.

And to Sally... I hope this is Brittney's last surgery too... will continue to pray for her.

Again, thank you all!
