Attempt at Triolet Poetry...

Dove Triolet

I hear the mourning dove call,
a sad, solitary sound
coming over the garden wall.
I hear the mourning dove call,
it resonates eerily through the pall
of forest fire haze all around.
I hear the mourning dove call,
a sad, solitary sound.

Firstly thank you for your visit to me. Well for a start why not post a poem to either Poets United on Sunday or Imaginary Garden with Real Toads just to see what happens when they have free verse entries so you can get a feedback on your work. We are fine company and there are many other blogging sites that you may like too.

This is so lovely, the call of the mourning dove interspersed with smoke from the fires -

there is a sadness, a mourning, well versed here, as nature too, can mourn for the wilderness being smoked and burnt, even for the renewal it brings as well - so there is a wonderful double-play of imagery here, from the fires and ashes ... etc.

I think the repetition in this poem really emphasizes and resonates with the message, much like how it is mourning doves sing their song. This is really quite lovely.

I like how you used the phrase "mourning dove call" with the thought of "forest fire".
