Rain and Other Stuff...

I'm sitting here listening to the rain coming down, and feeling peaceful. I love the sound of rain hitting the roof!

It's been a crazy couple of days at my home, mostly seen through the hazy eyes my muscle relaxants give me. I'll be glad to be done with those, hopefully very soon! Even so, I still got a little cleaning done, called a couple loved ones, did some reading from a print book, finished a recorded book, watched a little baseball and some more old Survivor episodes, and listened to the news... nuff said about that...

We got our sprinklers blown out earlier today and ready for the coming cold weather, so that's one more item off the checklist! I had also ordered a new vacuum cleaner, which arrived this evening! Paul put it together and took it for a test drive down our dusty hallway. I'm so happy to have a functioning vacuum again! Yay!

Oh, and I'm officially on Social Security. That's so weird because in my head I'm way too young for that, even though my husband retired earlier this year. Funny how that works. That's a quick update on my life. I hope you are all healthy and happy! Now, back to that book I go!

Yes, I'm Still Here...

Where are all my old blogging buddies? I'm guessing life has taken you all in different directions, just like it has done to me.

Life is getting better. PJ and I are adjusting to his retirement and enjoying our time together. We both have bothersome little health issues, but nothing too terrible. Though it took a while to recover from the heart surgery, I'm keeping my blood pressure, etc. under control. I've even convinced my husband to start eating more veggies! He's started cooking some of our meals and has made a couple fantastic vegetarian dishes.

Between Covid-19, fires all over the west, earthquakes in my state, hurricanes in the southeast, and politics (I'll keep my liberal thoughts to myself, at least for now. Haha!), I think we could all use some good news. Best I can offer is never give up believing things will get better. Keep the peace with your friends and neighbors. Reach out to those in need, if you can. We will get through all of this if we continue to be kind to one another, and by God's grace and mercy.

In the meantime, do something that brings you joy. Read a great book, watch a favorite movie, pull out the board games, take up a new hobby, write a letter to an old friend...

Look for the laughter and you will find it. Wishing you peace and love.

Life Just Keeps Changing...

If anyone is still out there...

My last post was in February. I was trying to recover from two strokes which happened during an angioplasty. Because that didn't work, I ended up having open heart bypass surgery the first week of March. It's been a long, slow recovery complicated by the arrival of Covid-19 and all the restrictions. I've had to have virtual doctor's appointments. There were two trips to the ER, which is even more scary these days. My husband had to sit out in the car for hours, as only patients were allowed into the hospital, which was hard on both of us. It's been a rough few months.

In the middle of all of this, my husband was trying to complete his retirement paperwork and was able to retire in June. We're definitely not living the retirement we dreamed of, still being confined mostly to home. There is a mask requirement for our county though many are ignoring it so far. Luckily, I'm the kind of person who loves being home. I've watched some great TV series and movies, finished several books listening to many of them on Audible, and worked some more on my family tree. My husband has completed several home and garden projects, and he is just enjoying not having to deliver mail in this hot weather. It's been nice having him home!

I'm still believing for a cure even though things look pretty bleak right now. I hope and pray all of you are healthy and safe. Until next time...

Changes in the Weather...

The robins are back, a hopeful sign that spring is not too far off. There are changes in the weather and changes in my world. I've been absent from here for a while, dealing with some health issues. It looks like those issues are bringing more change to my life. A possible surgery. More on that another time.

I started my little eBay business with my sis, but that is on hold for the moment. I'd really hoped to showcase some our featured treasures here on my blog. Sometimes life hands us a different road map to follow. I'm hoping in a few weeks time to return to my original path.

My other hobbies have been set aside for while, the writing, researching my ancestors, crafting. I just haven't had the focus or the energy. I'm believing that is also going to change once I get my health issues resolved. Updates to follow. Until then, wishing you blessings and joy!
