Another small selection from my "Drafts" folder. I've decided to go ahead and publish it today. The original blog post was written November 16, 2014. Ironically, I was thinking about friendships just yesterday. The different types and those that come and go. Here's what I wrote back in 2014:

Snowmen, Postcards, and Calendars...
I have a friend, Carol, who decorates with snowmen during January and February. As soon as Christmas decor comes down, her snowman collection comes out. Read her Gathering Graces blog post at Silver Valley Stories from December 31st.
Snowmen are also a favorite of mine too. I usually have my little collection out during Christmas, but since there was no Christmas tree or decorating this year, most of them are still packed away somewhere in my garage. The exception are these three, which happened to be on my bookshelves. The tall one was my mother's, the one with the two little girls was a gift from my mother-in-law many years ago, and the one holding the snow baby was a gift from a friend.
Fun story, my husband is a letter carrier, who has been delivering mail for 30 years. He has been on his current route for a very long time. People know him well and like him a lot. He receives stacks of Christmas cards and many small gifts of treats, etc. Some of the cards are family group photos, and he has watched many of the children grow up and move away. Today a post card came through for a couple on his route. As he glanced at the address, his eye caught sight of his name. Above "Dear mom and dad" was a small "Hello to you too, Paul!" It was from their daughter, all the way over in Italy, and she remembered to greet her former letter carrier. It made him smile. I told him he should have snapped a picture with his phone, which he hadn't, but it's probably against rules anyway. I thought it was funny and sweet that she thought to say hello to him.
Every year one of my dear friends, DeAnn, gives me the Mary Engelbreit daily calendar. I love calendars, and this one is a favorite of mine. There is colorful artwork and quotes for each day of the week. The theme for this year is love. There are hearts on each page, a constant reminder to look for love in the world and to be a more loving person. If we really try, we can change the world for the better.

Conversations...
I've been without a car for the past two weeks, though why it matters I really can't say, I rarely leave the house anymore. I've been sitting here reflecting on conversations I've had on the telephone, and how thankful I am for that simple convenience. Today, I was able to talk to one of my best friends, my kindred spirit, Carol. She recently lost her mother. I haven't been able to get to a shop and find an appropriate card. The sympathy cards in my supply just didn't express what was in my heart, which was overflowing with sadness and love for her and her family. I lost my mom over 16 years ago, and I miss her just as much today as I did that first week. I just shed fewer tears now, though occasionally the tears still come.
We talked about moms, and loss, and the things you want to do as well as need to do, along with some general chitchat. I mentally reached for just the right comforting words to say, but they didn't come. Mind blank. Frozen. Hopefully the love came through.
Some I also talked to this week: my other best friend, DeAnn; my Uncle Burt; my dear friend Marjie, who was also my grandma's best friend; Aunt Beth, technically my husband's aunt, but totally adopted by me; my cousin, Elverta; my husband, phoning from the eclipse party in the mountains that I had to miss. There may have been others I'm not remembering right now, but it was a busy week on the phone.
Conversation is my favorite way of connecting with people. I do love social media like Facebook, I enjoy blogging and visiting the blogs of friends, email is also good, but better than all of these is conversation. Ideally, it would be done face to face, over a cup of coffee and perhaps a decadent dessert, but the telephone is the next best thing. It takes away from the isolation I've allowed my health to place me in. If you do nothing else this week, make time for your loved ones and your friends in whatever way you can, message, phone call, or visit. We benefit from interaction with others. It reminds us we are all in this world together. Let's make it a beautiful place to be.

Faith, Family, Friends...
Yesterday afternoon and evening, I was able to spend time with my cousin, Ramona. She recently lost her husband, and it's been a rough time for her. She came by my house and suggested we go visit her mom. Just driving through her old neighborhood, where I'd spent many happy childhood days, was emotional and wonderful. My mom lived across the street from them, for several years. Her house is still there, still the same color. The only real change was, the rose arbor that went over the front gate was no longer there.
As we walked around to the back of Mary Ellen's home, to go in through the back door, I glanced up at the little window of the garage apartment. We lived there, when I was very young. I remember looking out that window, seeing my cousins playing in the yard below. This was when I first really got to know my cousins, five girls, what fun we had!
Walking through the house, memories kept washing over me. We had a lovely visit with Mary Ellen. Even with extreme health issues, her smile and her sense of humor was still strong. She and my mom always kept us laughing with their stories. I miss those times. I'm so thankful for them.
Next, Ramona and I went to one of our favorite Chinese restaurants, Golden Star. It was just as good as I remembered! That place is filled with memories as well. My grandparents took us there often, beginning back in the late 60's. My husband and I, along with our families, shared our wedding day meal there before leaving for our honeymoon.
Ramona and I talked about so many things. There were tears, some from memories and some from the hot mustard, and there was a lot of laughter. We talked about the past. We talked about what her future may now hold. When life changes the plans you had for your retirement years with your husband, you have to begin thinking about what you will now do. One thing I do believe, she will be blessed beyond what she can even see right now, and my cousin is a woman of strong faith and vision. I'm praying and believing it will be better than she can even imagine.
Before we left Golden Star, I heard a hello, and there was another cousin's wife, Dorrine! She was there with a big group of family. After hugs all around, we chatted a couple minutes. Then another friend of Ramona's walked in, and she got to share a few moments with him. As we were leaving, our cousin Mark was just arriving to join the family, so we got to say hello to him as well. I guess we picked the perfect night to eat at Golden Star.
We decided to text one of my best friends, DeAnn. She hadn't been able to join us for dinner, but she was now available to visit, so we headed to her home. What a fun time we had! More laughter, a few more tears. We talked about everything from family, loss, life, church, our homes, and even clothes. DeAnn showed us her new LuLaRoe clothes, purchased from the lovely Jenn Schram, and even offered to let me try on a couple of her new shirts. Such fun! We took photos of her in one of her new outfits, which led to some laughs because neither Ramona or I were very adept at using the smart phone for photos.
After Ramona dropped me off at my house, and I sat in my family room going over the events of the evening, I felt so blessed. Having family and friends to travel through this life's journey is what it's all about. We can share our sorrows and our joys with each other. We are reminded we don't have to walk it alone. We have our faith, our family, and our friends to make our journey a little bit easier, and a lot less lonely, and that is a blessing.

New People...
The BlogHer Prompt for today:
"Do you like meeting new people, or do you prefer to hangout with people you already know?"
This is a tough one for me. Although I enjoy meeting new people, I always have a bit of social anxiety about it. I'm also very reluctant to integrate new people into my world. I suppose it is a result of being burned a few times in the past.
I'm the person who can chat with strangers in the supermarket, the park, a restaurant, etc., but who freezes up when being introduced to a new person at church or in the neighborhood. What is that? I know I worry about what to say, but I often end up rambling nonsensically about anything and everything, all the while wondering if they like me. I have to work at focusing on them, on what they are interested in, and less about what they are thinking of me. I'm somehow always trying to fit in, instead of realizing I do have something to offer in the way of friendship. Once I can relax and let go of my insecurities, I nearly always end up enjoying the company of someone new.
At the core, I will always prefer to hangout with people I already know. Friends and family. My comfort zone. I already know what the expectations are. These people have seen my flaws and failings, and have stayed in my life anyway! They're part of my framework, my foundation, my society. It doesn't mean I don't make room for new friends, I'm just very selective, even cautious, about who I open up to.
The irony of this, is how comfortable I am with blogging, knowing strangers may be reading my words and judging them. I always hope what I write will resonate with others, either striking a common cord or introducing a new way of looking at something, but I don't have the same reticence as I do in meeting people face to face.
Learning to set my insecurities aside is a continuing process. I am getting better at it, but may never be completely free from those feelings, and I'm ok with that.

Catching Up on Prompts...
With the holiday weekend, I got busy and didn't get back to the BlogHer writing prompts. I looked them over this morning and several didn't apply to me, so I'm combining them into this post.
I still read the first blog I began with, Silver Valley Stories. Carol introduced me to blogging and a community of other writers. I read several blogs before finally deciding to start mine.
I can't remember who I first emailed with, after we met through blogging. It was very likely Pam Warden of Pam Warden Art, Donna of Made in Heaven or Donna of Cottage Days and Journeys. I do know I've made some wonderful friends along the way.
It's always flattering when someone mentions me in their writing. My friend Carol wrote a very sweet piece about our friendship a couple years ago, Kindred Spirits. We've had a unique and special friendship, and I treasure it!
I can't close this post without mentioning the heartbreak going on in our nation. Praying for all who have lost loved ones. Praying for peace.

Early Spring...
I've been so busy recently. Took my sis to breakfast and to the Antique Mall last weekend. It was such a fun morning. Shared recent news and reminisced over old family stories. We scored some more family photos at the mall! In one lot, there was my own wedding photo which I'd given a great aunt and uncle. You just never know what you'll find when you go treasure hunting. Does that mean my sweetheart and I are now antiques? Or at least very collectible?
My youngest was on his break between winter session and spring semester. It was very nice having him home. I know the days of him hanging out with us may be very short. He graduates from college this year, and who knows where his future will take him. My mom heart is praying he gets a fantastic job, but just not too far away. That's reasonable, right?
Last evening we went to dinner at Red Robin, with two of our best friends. I tried their french dip with grilled onions. Oh my, it was so good! I've found a new favorite! Afterward, we went back to their home and played Dominoes. We had so many laughs. It was a wonderful time.
I've spent part of today scanning old negatives onto my computer. It's a long-term project which I started two or three years ago. It's very time consuming, but will be worth it to have our photos backed up on computer and in "the cloud" wherever that really is.
It feels like an early spring really is in store this year. I am definitely ready for it. Spring is already in my heart today!

Daydreams...
There was a time, a long while back, when I dreamed of living on an acreage with plenty of space. Far from people, filled with animals of all kinds. Maybe a log home or an old two story farmhouse with a big red barn. I would have a huge room with a grand piano and floor to ceiling bookshelves...
These days I dream of a Paris or New York apartment with all the amenities or a little cottage near the Oregon Coast. The dream mainly requires I must be close to restaurants and shops, especially cozy book stores. I will have at least one cat and maybe a little dog.
I'll wear hats. I've never worn hats much, because I was told I didn't have the head for them. Maybe I don't, but why should that stop me? I'll wear expensive perfume and silky scarves, but I won't wear make-up ever, unless the mood should strike. I'll say exactly what I think, without feeling like I must apologize for my opinion. I will stop wondering why this old friend, or that other one, never calls anymore. My address and phone books will reflect those who maintain connections. All a person really needs is the love and friendship of a few true friends, and the love of their life partner and children, of course.
I'll write my truth. In writing it, I'll try to be kind, but even if the truth is unkind it may have to be written. I saw a quote somewhere... if you didn't want it written about you, you should have behaved better... something to that effect. Oh my, the things which could be written about me. Things which may well be cruel, seen in print. I have to remember every truth is tempered by circumstance, what we knew then, what was the trigger, and how we addressed it or changed from it.
So, the dreams... new location; simpler life; be myself; hold those who love me close, and let the rest go; be honest, tempered with kindness; accept my truths and my failings, but don't linger there; read; write; and pets... yes, I must have pets!

Friend Connect...
I've still been using Google Friend Connect, and just spotted an update which says it's really going away for blogger. I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to follow my favorite blogs. I need to make a master list, I guess, and try to check in now and then. I feel like I'm slipping quickly behind on technology changes. I'll have to ask my sons if they have any recommendations.
My "joy" theme is struggling a bit today. I've been too preoccupied with computer issues to find my moment. I'm getting ready to head out to the mailbox, maybe there will be a surprise waiting for me. I feel a little "joy twinge" just thinking about that!

Soul Medicine...
I got out of the house again this weekend! Last week was a wedding; last night was pizza and Dominoes with some dear friends; today was church service followed by a baby shower.
It's medicine for my soul to gather with people I love. To share our hearts, to laugh. At one point last night, the four of us were laughing so hard it brought tears. Going along in my day to day existence, I forget how nice it is to get out and reconnect and just have fun!
My "Must-Do" list now includes "making time for friends and fun"! Relationships take nurturing to grow and thrive, and the payoff is worth every effort I make. The rewards are a light heart and a joyful soul!
Take a moment and call an old friend!

To Friendship...
I'm sitting here enjoying a snowy episode of Gilmore Girls, eating a Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop-Tart, sipping a cup of Starbucks Pike Place Roast coffee. And no, I get no compensation for name dropping of major brands. ;)
I'm feeling very blessed. Both sons are home today. They're visiting and video-gaming in the other room. My husband is out getting a haircut and doing some shopping at the mall. I have a large pan of my grandma's Spanish Goulash baking in the oven for later, and the house smells terrific!
I'd been missing two of my closest friends so much. They've just been on my mind. I found out yesterday that DeAnn hasn't been well, but we texted some messages back and forth, and it made her seem closer. In reality, she lives not too far from me, but life seems to be pulling us in different directions, and we just don't get together much any more. We're going to try to fix that, and very soon! We met many years ago when she began dating one of my childhood friends. One of our first nights together, at a church retreat, we spent much of the night talking after all the other ladies had fallen to sleep. Over the years, we've watched our sons grow up, worked on many Harvest Parties for the kids Sunday School classes, had years of Church Camp, dinners out, and game nights! When we're together we're either laughing or breaking out in song, or sometimes both! She is such a dear friend!
Carol lives several hours from me, in north Idaho. We became close because she married my cousin, Paul. They lived in Meridian for several years which is when our friendship really began. We discovered we are "kindred spirits" and have so much in common. It was because of her, I began blogging. We both love books and writing, music, and so much more. We can talk for hours. She has introduced me to so many new ideas. She has a great love for animals and gardening, and she is an excellent cook and hostess. She's an actress in local theatre and has also appeared in a short, independent film. She has a strong Christian faith and has been a constant inspiration to me. I mentioned to my husband, just this morning, how I was missing her. He went out to the mailbox a few minutes later, and there was a card for me! It was from Carol, and on the envelope had a picture of a couple Lab puppies (I love Labs), and "Best Friends" was printed on it. To the side, Carol wrote in "and kindred spirits" which made my heart smile!
I have many other dear, close friends, but won't write about them on this day. If you're reading this, and you are one of those, please know each one of you is precious to me and holds a unique place in my heart.

Yesterday, I had a moment of self realization. It was as if a veil had been removed from my eyes. I remembered who I was. It's really difficult to explain depression, especially when I didn't even know I was caught in it. I've had moments of great joy, but somewhere inside there has been a disconnect.
When I was young, I longed to be a clown. I even collected clowns. When you're a clown, you can have a smile for the world, even when you're all broken up inside. So, I was a "clown" many times, but a day came when I couldn't even pretend to smile for the world, or my family, or my friends. It cost me, because some people can't bear to see pain in others. They much prefer the clown. Those who truly love me have stayed in my life. They are my great Oak trees! Rooted deep, invested, and there for the long term. I'm thankful for the great Oaks. I'm thankful they continued to reach out, sometimes to lift me up by their words or just in their private prayers. I have felt it, and I survived because of it. I also survived because of my amazing husband and sons! They made my life worth living, even on the days when I couldn't stop saying "I can't... I just can't... I'm not strong enough..."

Yesterday, I felt renewed. I stood in the middle of my home, which has been filled with so much "stuff" I'd saved, for what I do not know. I knew I needed to do some clearing out and have actually been working on it, donating clothing, books, excess, but I didn't really see how bad it was, how it weighed me down. I suddenly said, "I can!" and repeated it to myself as I began to open my curtains, and pull up the blinds. This was both literally and mentally. I let the sunlight in. I looked out at the beautiful autumn colors, and I saw them, really saw them. I felt the possibilities rather than the limitations, and I'm loving November!

The Art House Co-Op Mystery Project
I decided to do something fun and different. I entered a Mystery Project Challenge through the Art House Co-op on Facebook. They mailed me a card with a theme and a Prismacolor pen which had to be used in the challenge. Other entries can be seen on their Facebook page by clicking Art House Co-op.
My theme was "Things and the people and places using them" and it had me stumped for a bit. So I started going through some of my "things" and found a teacup of my grandma's (by the way, Happy Birthday Grandma!). It was the inspiration for my project.
I chose Miss Tami's Restaurant/Cafe for my "places" because of the memories. You can visit Miss Tami's on Facebook or go to the web page by clicking on Miss Tami's. My mom and I loved going there. It's a restaurant, tearoom and gift shoppe. Miss Tami not only stocks collectibles of all kinds, there is jewelry, art work, stationery, books, and vintage items. The gift shoppe area is smaller, as the tearoom/restaurant has expanded, but it is still filled with many lovely things. Just a note... if you click on the photos, they should enlarge for better viewing.
So now, I had my "thing" and "place" for the challenge. I looked through my collection of tea cups and found three favorites. One was Grandma Martha's, one was my mom's, and I believe the other was Grandma Wait's. I played around with different arrangements, taking photos of each, and I finally settled on one. I printed the photo on to fabric, washed, dried, and ironed it. Next I outlined areas with pencil to make them stand out, and used the green Prismacolor pen to highlight the leaves and shamrocks. I mounted it onto poster board and matted it. It was complete.
The next part of the challenge was to take the artwork and install it in a public place. I had to document the installation with a photograph, and post it onto the Art House Co-op Facebook page. Then I was to leave the artwork for someone to find. I put a short note of explanation on the back of the photo, with the instruction that it was free to the finder.
I hope it makes someone smile. It made me smile. I had so much fun doing this project, and I can't wait to try a new challenge. While I was in Miss Tami's, so many memories washed over me. Not only of my mom, but of my dear friend Judy and her mother Ann. After my mom died, Ann would take Judy and I out for our birthdays. Ann and I had November birthdays and Judy's is in October. Miss Tami's was one of the places we loved going to. I hadn't been back to Miss Tami's since Ann passed. Being there today just made my heart happy. I enjoyed every minute of it! I even found a picture during my visit, that had to come home with me. A couple of delicious lemon shortbread cookies also found their way to my house! It's been a wonderful day!

Just Checking In...
First of all, I'm hating the new blogger layout! I have a hard time adjusting to new formats, so I feel lost right now.
Secondly, does anyone know how to stop following a blog? I tried to figure it out, but can't seem to make any changes. I have decided if I am not inspired, uplifted, connected by friendship... maybe it's time to stop following. Especially if there are things that I find uncomfortable. Everyone has the right to post about anything they want, and rather than complain or rant in their comments (which I find that a lot of people do), I'd rather just quietly slip away. If you know how to do this, please let me know. I just can't seem to find the right "button" or place to do this.
Life has been hectic. My family is still working through the loss of my father-in-law. PJ made another trip with his sister to take care of things at the house, etc. I'm continuing to work on organizing my home, and trying to plan a graduation celebration for my youngest. He actually received his diploma in the fall, but we were waiting until good weather so that family could come. He has been accepted into a very good college and will be living there, starting in August. I am going to feel a little lost with both sons gone from home. I do have a long list of new hobbies I want to try, and maybe even take an online course myself, so I plan on keeping very busy. Even doing that, I know it will be a huge adjustment for me!
I've missed all of you! I still don't have a new computer, but have this little laptop I bought from MJ. It's a little Apple, and I'm still learning how to use it. I hope to be blogging more consistently before long!
Wishing you peace...

Day 24 - Beginnings, Finding Joy
Today has been a beautiful one. Not the weather, it's been overcast and very cold. Just something about the day. Maybe it's because I woke up feeling good. My head cold is waning, and I slept much better last night.
My mind has been filled with ideas. Things I want to do, things I'm looking forward to. A visit from my sister-in-law in a couple of weeks. My lil sis and one of my best friends have birthdays coming up. That means a lunch or dinner out with each of them! I talked to my husband about some craft projects I want his help with. That may mean buying myself a couple of tools, but it will be fun! He thought it sounded like fun too. I'll keep you posted on this.
I've also been thinking about my journey with my faith. I hit a crisis a few months back. It felt like I might never recover, but I did. I was reading this post today, Talking To God. That's how it is for me. Things hit, and maybe send me reeling, but I always have God to turn to. It doesn't mean that life is always rosy and wonderful. It does mean I can find joy, in even the darkest of times. Hoping you are finding the joy in your life!

Day 15 - Beginnings, Plus Sunday Scribblings Prompt - Tribe
Below is my piece for Sunday Scribblings. It also falls under my NaBloPoMo prompt. It's about the beginning of a friendship...

| Free Degas Image from Dover |
It started after a gathering of church ladies. They got to chatting and the minutes turned into hours. There was an instant kinship. Two very different looking women, but cut from the same cloth, from the same roots. As if part of a long, forgotten tribe.
They talked, sharing stories and laughter. This was the beginning of a lifelong friendship. One of sharing their joys, accomplishments, marriages, children, and faith. No secrets were too dark. It was an intimate relationship, as if they were sisters from the same clan, separated long ago, but now reunited. This deep friendship does not disintegrate with age or distance. The thread that binds them together is woven too deeply in heart and in spirit. They both feel such gratitude that, in this life, they found each other, and they hold the belief their friendship will continue into the next.

Day 13 - Beginnings, Expanding My Circle
Sooo, I'm on the 13th day of my pledge, to write every day of this month, for NaBloPoMo (click link on side bar for explanation). Besides writing every day, you are encouraged to read other blogs on the blogroll list. I'm having trouble with that part. I just can't seem to find blogs that I have much in common with, or that tempt me to branch out in a whole new direction.
I've made so many friends through blogging, including artists, crafters, photographers, and a few writers. By writers, I mean those whose first love is writing rather than those who write to share their other loves. I've been told that to be a great writer, you have to spend time reading other great writers. Not to copy, but to gain inspiration and knowledge.
Love of the written word is what brought me to blogging in the beginning. The friendships I've made have kept me coming back. Connecting to people who may be in far off places, but who I share a kinship with in some way. This is reason enough to keep reading new blogs. I'll try another few links from the blogroll, and work to expand my relationships with other writers.

Hello Friends...
Christmas has come and gone. It's been a busy month. Every time I thought about posting, something always seemed to take priority. A lot of things went by the wayside, but my family had a joyful, quiet Christmas.
Like many of you, I'm looking forward to the new year. I have expectations of better things ahead. I'm not alone when I say, this has been a difficult year for us in finances, health, and the unexpected. It has also been a year of growth. I've had to make the best of every situation, sometimes finding new ways of looking at life. Some things were lost, some set aside, and some were restored. My faith has been strengthened through it all. Despite all the negative voices, I believe in a bright future! Sometimes it's nice to just turn off the TV, the radio, the noise, and spend some hopeful time in quiet contemplation.
I'm wishing you renewed faith, quiet moments, the love of family & friends, and a New Year filled with peace.

Melancholy...
In between moments of fun and the busyness of life, I've had a weird, weepy melancholy the past few days. My grandma's best friend turned 80 on Saturday. I wanted to be there to celebrate with her, but travel is not an option right now. That was also the one year anniversary of my grandma's passing. I guess that added to the emotions.
So many things have happened in my life over this past year. I'm in a place of reflection and self-examination. I have a clearer picture of things I want to accomplish, and I'm hoping to have the strength to get them done. I also know what I'm ready to let go of.
I dusted off my piano the other day and sat down to play. I was shocked at how difficult it is now. Music is one of those things that requires practice to maintain, and I can't remember the last time I played. I wasn't very good, but I discovered it still gives me great joy to make music. I've promised to make more time for the things that give me joy. Playing the piano, reading a good book, spending time with family and friends. All those things and more.
I just found this post by a friend. She shared the poem, The Pleasures of Ordinary Life. It speaks to what I've been feeling. You can find it Here, at Gathering Round the Table.

I'm still here!
Hello friends! I have neglected my blog terribly the past couple of months, and I'm even farther behind in reading my favorite blogs. I haven't forgotten any of you, I've just been so busy. Besides the ancestry search that has been consuming a lot of my time, there's been little of everything going on... husband & son had the flu, been sorting and scanning family photos, going through old family cassette and video tapes just to see what's on them, catching up on my reading, and more.
Most recently, my oldest son is moving back in with us for a time. He wants to save some money in anticipation of some things he'd like to do in his life. It will also be a help for us, because he'll be paying us room and board. Another plus... I love having him around! He is loving, funny, and just a joy in our lives. Plus, he's really tall! He can reach the things I can no longer reach, although my husband & younger son also help with that. But, he'll be around when they aren't because of his work schedule.
I'm supposed to stay off of step-stools and ladders because of my osteoporosis... They measured me at my doctor appointment this week, and I've lost another 1/2 inch since last November. I was 5' 8-1/2" when I got married 30 years ago... now I'm 5' 6-1/2"... a full 2 inches shorter! Not great. The good news is that I'd lost 21 pounds! Yippee! Still a long way to go, but it's a good start.
I've been reconnecting with some friends. That's been fun. I'm one of those people who is so happy at home in my little world, that I don't get out much. My friend (she's also my cousin-in-law), Carol, was down doing the college visits with her daughter. She saved an entire morning to spend with me! We went out to breakfast, then came back to my home to chat. There is nothing like time with a dear friend to put life back into perspective. Her visit brought such a feeling of joy to my heart.
My husband and I made it to church last weekend, and got invited to go out to lunch. My first impulse was to just go home, but I pushed myself to go and we had the best time! Old friends bring that comfortable feeling of just being able to be ourselves. We shared about our boys... they have three, we have two... we talked about the wonderful church service... about what's new in our lives... and we laughed. It was wonderful!
Well, that's my update. I'll try to get back here more often. Next time, I'll come to visit some of your blogs!
Blessings to each of you!
