I'm shocked I missed an entire month of blogging! Life has had some ups and downs, and I've just been very busy. I've been taking care of some health issues, working on my family tree, done a little bit of work on my book, and a lot of other stuff! Too much for one post.
I'm getting ready to go on a trial run with a new MS medication, so I had a brain MRI today as a new "baseline" to refer back to. It had been about 4 years since the last brain scan. They alternate, so two years ago it was the spine. I'm excited about this new medication. It's not a cure, there isn't one yet, but it is supposed to slow down the progression.
Afterwards, my husband took me out for lunch, which we rarely do these days. It was so nice to be out with him! Then we went to a second hand furniture store that I like. I found a gently used sofa and chair at a bargain price! They'll be delivered in a couple days, and my old sofa will go back with them to be placed on consignment! A few days ago, my sweet husband brought home a new TV. It's got a much bigger screen, so I can actually see it, and even read words on it! We were able to indulge in a little shopping due to the road widening behind our home. We're losing a wide chunk of the easement at the back of our lot, so there is a small financial compensation. I'm hoping there will be enough left for some new flooring or carpet too! Have to wait and see on that!
Well, I will try to be back a little more often. No promises though! Spring has been beautiful, and I have several projects lined up! Wishing all of you a beautiful week!

Day 8 - Beginnings, Sorting Christmas - Plus The Sunday Scribblings Word Prompt - Normal
The New Year has truly begun. I finally took down my Christmas tree. I've been going through my huge collection of ornaments and weeding out many. I find I'm tired of mass produced plastic or resin ornaments. I'll keep a few sentimental Hallmark pieces, but many are going to find a new home!
I plan to spend some time creating handmade ornaments for next years tree. I saw a cute idea on a decorating show that I'm going to try. If it works out, I'll post photos. If it doesn't... well, I'll probably never mention it again! I'll also be doing a little bit of Etsy and blog shopping for handmade creations. My budget being what is is right now, it will be a very tiny bit of shopping.
Following is a short piece I did for the Sunday Scribblings Prompt, Normal...
What do you really see, when you look at me
I am not your normal, run of the mill kind of woman
My style is undefined, eclectic, ok... it's weird
My laugh is sometimes much too loud
And even my friends say I talk expansively
Which is apparent to me, when folks wander off
While I remain mid-sentence,
rambling perhaps, but singed just a touch
because I hoped my words would be meaningful
or at least entertaining
Normal I am not, but are you

Lines...
For the past couple of days, people have been lining up for the midnight sales that start tonight. One part of me says they're crazy, even greedy. They could be spending the day with family. On the other hand, maybe it's the only chance they have to give their family the things many of us take for granted. Nice dishes, a coffee maker, toys for their child's Christmas, a television set, linens, clothing. As I sit here this morning typing on this PC that I am thankful to have, sipping a hot cup of coffee from the Keurig, and listening to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in the background, I realize that I am abundantly blessed. I shouldn't judge those who are willing to camp out, in the freezing cold, to get a little more of their American dream.
As I wish you Happy Thanksgiving, I'm so grateful for my family and for all we have. Many people this holiday season are without jobs, standing in food lines, wondering what the future will bring. In today's paper there is a photo of a young soldier in uniform, with his family, standing in a food line. It's wrong, so very wrong.
I'm praying for a light, and an answer, in this current economic darkness. May God bless each of you today, and fill your homes with peace and love.

Heat Wave...
It is blistering hot for my part of the world! In the 100's, and I tend to feel overheated when it gets to be 75 or higher. Heat makes me tired and lethargic. I have been neglecting my blog, my housework, shopping, and just about anything that takes energy. I wish I lived near an icy cold lake! ok... enough whining...
This week has been busy. Doctor visits... yearly tests, which I hadn't done since 2004! Now that is procrastinating! You know... the mammogram, bone density, bloodwork, etc., etc...
I am also supposed to be planning what to pack for next weeks camp. Sounds like it will be a hot weather year, and I do not have the figure for shorts! I only have two of the capri length, so tomorrow I am hitting the local Walmart sale with hope that they still have a few of the "big gal" sizes left.
I wish I had something more excitng to share... I'm even yawning while writing this post, but I promised myself I'd write something today... Sorry, this is it! LOL!
Just in case they are reading my blog... "Happy Birthday to Brian Peoples (one day late) and Ms. Jessica (today is the day)! I hope you both had a wonderful birthday. I love you both so much!!!
